I want us to pursue GRACEFUL PREACHING in a threefold sense:

  • First, we should strive to be graceful in the sense of not flopping all over ourselves during the sermon distracting people from the good news of our grace-gifting God.
  • Second, it is full-of-grace, all-about-grace, and focused on God's grace as a present reality in our lives and in this world.
  • Lastly, it is being able to adapt and move gracefully in our current cultural context. Paul Scott Wilson writes: "every age must find its own way to revitalize the preaching task."

GRACEFUL PREACHING is a new way to live in community and a much needed balm to help heal previous pastoral malpractice. It is fluid, focused, and active. It titillates the senses and invites people into a larger narrative. Graceful Preaching is the homiletic revitalization of our generation.
